Second Grade
Second grade students at Rhodes will learn how to apply a growth mindset as they expand their knowledge throughout the year! Teachers work to meet students' needs through whole group and small group instruction.
Second grade uses ReadyGen as their curriculum for reading, writing, and phonics. They follow the Go Math curriculum while also allowing time for math stations to reinforce concepts. They will cover units on Earth, life, and physical science. Students will learn about communities, government, American history, and geography in social studies.
Rhodes offers a dual language bilingual program for English language learners to promote biliteracy and competency in both English and Spanish.
All second graders will be exposed to art, music, computers, library, Spanish, and physical education through specialist teachers.
Extra help for students is available through Title 1 reading and math, along with Rhodes Academy. Enrichment reading and math is available for students who qualify.
